Dunhams Washroom Systems was delighted to be involved in the conversion of an existing cloakroom to a large, spacious open plan washroom area for Wensum Junior School.
With beautifully preserved original architecture, the school building has been highlighted as one of the ‘historic gems’ of Norwich.
Brief
This meant careful design and refurbishment was required to ensure the school’s existing architecture and historic feel was preserved when renovating to create a modern school washroom.
As manufacturers of bespoke washrooms, we were able to assist with the refurbishment from the design stage—working with architects, contractor, and the school board to manufacture the washrooms to suit the space allocated in the best possible way.
Solution
Our exclusive Grafix Mondriano feature door finish was chosen to add a splash of colour to the new washroom area, with its bold and vibrant style complemented by plain block shades from our colour palette. The open plan washroom creates a visually appealing space that contrasts with the school’s existing classic architecture, of high windows and towering archways.
The handwash area solution is given a sleek, streamlined look with the pairing of Resilic Washtroughs and complementary SGL Vanity subframes. The washtroughs are made of FRP, a lightweight material with a smooth surface that is hygienic and protected from cracks and dirt. The surface is sealed with an antibacterial finish, providing a clean and protected space.
“Resilic Washtroughs are perfect for busy school washrooms or classroom wet areas. Despite frequent use for washing those grubby little hands, these troughs are designed to be durable, hygienic and easily cleaned. Formed in a single piece from lightweight Fibre Reinforced Plastic, Resilic Washtroughs are also resistant to corrosion and impact, and feature a unique antibacterial coating, making them suitable for any wet school environment.”
