The Challenge
As part of an £8 million improvement project, the school constructed a new teaching block to accommodate additional classrooms, art rooms, a digital media suite, and enhanced sports facilities. As an Ofsted-rated “outstanding school”, the institution is committed to maintaining high standards across all areas, including its washroom facilities. The challenge was to supply the new teaching block with washrooms that offered maximum privacy and security while blending seamlessly with the professional, collegiate aesthetic of the building.
The Solution
To meet the school’s requirements, we provided Full Height Cubicles from our Altitude SGL range, designed with an extra privacy channel and minimal floor clearance to ensure privacy and security in the open-plan washrooms.
The cubicles were complemented by floor-to-ceiling IPS Wall Panels, featuring a hinged key lock access panel for easy maintenance access to concealed pipework.
For the handwashing areas, Solid Surface Wash Troughs paired with SGL Vanity Panels were installed in a central arrangement in each washroom. This layout ensures students can efficiently move through the handwash area, ideal for handling high traffic during peak times like break and lunch periods.
The Outcome
The washroom facilities in the new teaching block now provide a secure, attractive, and highly functional solution for the school. The combination of Altitude Cubicles, IPS Wall Panels, and Solid Surface Wash Troughs ensures that the facilities are hygienic, durable, and able to accommodate the high foot traffic typical in school washrooms. The design also blends perfectly with the college-style professionalism of the new building, helping the school maintain its high standards of excellence.
