Rokeby School
The Challenge
Rokeby School has a long-standing reputation for providing an exceptional learning environment and continually investing in its facilities. Following feedback from pupils, the school identified a need to completely refurbish its washrooms, creating spaces that better reflected the high standards found throughout the rest of the campus.
The existing facilities were showing signs of age, with outdated finishes, sanitaryware and layouts impacting both functionality and user experience. Durability was also a key consideration, as the washrooms needed to withstand heavy daily use by more than 770 pupils while remaining attractive and easy to maintain. In addition, the school wanted to improve hygiene standards and create a more contemporary environment that would serve students well for years to come.
The Solution
Dunhams supplied a comprehensive washroom package, combining robust materials, modern design and practical functionality to meet the school’s objectives.
The project featured our Altitude XP cubicle system, specified for its exceptional durability and suitability for high-traffic educational environments. Manufactured from solid grade laminate, the cubicles provide excellent resistance to impact, moisture and everyday wear, ensuring long-term performance with minimal maintenance requirements.
To create a clean and coordinated finish throughout the washrooms, IPS Duct systems were installed to neatly conceal services while maintaining easy access for maintenance. Contemporary vanity units were incorporated within the communal wash areas, complemented by a Sanive solid surface wash trough that delivers excellent hygiene, durability and ease of cleaning.
The overall design focused on creating bright, modern and welcoming spaces while ensuring the materials selected could withstand the demands of a busy school environment. Robust finishes and hygienic surfaces were chosen throughout to support efficient cleaning and long-term reliability.
The Outcome
The completed refurbishment has transformed the pupil washrooms, providing Rokeby School with modern, high-quality facilities that align with the school’s commitment to delivering first-class learning environments.
