Stanway School
The Challenge
Stanway School, located in Colchester, Essex, is part of the Sigma Trust and prides itself on being a community where every student matters. As part of a £7 million expansion project, the school required new student toilet areas as part of a sports hall refurbishment. The challenge was to design open-plan, unisex washrooms that would offer privacy, security, and durability for the students.
The Solution
To address the school’s needs, Dunhams was involved early in the project, collaborating with the architect and contractor, Stroods Specialist Contractors. Our Altitude XP range, specifically designed for enhanced privacy, was the perfect solution for the open-plan washroom areas.
The Altitude XP Cubicles provide floor-to-ceiling cubicles with an extra privacy channel, ensuring maximum security and discretion. We also supplied Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) Duct Panels with pre-fitted frames, which are considerably reduce installation time.
For the handwashing facilities, Postformed Laminate Vanity Tops with SGL Vanity Bases were provided which offered a durable, cost-effective, and easy-to-maintain solution.
The Outcome
The refurbishment of the student toilet areas at Stanway School now provides a modern, secure, and privacy-focused environment for students. The Altitude XP Cubicles, along with the SGL duct panels and durable vanity units, create a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution that meets both the school’s and students’ needs. The efficient design and installation process also ensured minimal disruption during the refurbishment.
