The Challenge
The Conge Washrooms in Great Yarmouth are located on the seafront and remain open to the public throughout the year, meaning they experience heavy foot traffic and exposure to the elements. The washrooms endure the impact of sea, sand, and sun, particularly during the busy summer months. The challenge was to create a facility that could withstand high traffic, year-round use, and the wear and tear caused by the coastal environment. The design needed to incorporate vandal-resistant features, easy maintenance, and long-term durability, while still ensuring the washrooms were functional and attractive for the public.
The Solution
Dunhams provided a durable and practical solution with our Challenger SGL Cubicle Range, renowned for its strength and vandal resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic public washrooms. Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) was used across the entire washroom, including the cubicles, duct panelling, and vanity units, to ensure maximum protection against wear and tear.
To complement the cubicles, Solid Grade Laminate vanity tops were chosen for their exceptional durability in high-traffic public spaces. Being impervious to water, they are an ideal long-term solution for washrooms that are exposed to harsh conditions.
Additionally, Dunhams supplied all sanitaryware as part of the package, streamlining the procurement process for the client.
The Outcome
The revamped Conge Washrooms now provide a robust, vandal-resistant, and easy-to-maintain facility that can handle the demands of a high-traffic public space. The use of Challenger SGL Cubicles and Solid Grade Laminate vanity tops ensures the washrooms are durable and functional, able to withstand the challenges of being located in a coastal environment.
