Our Environmental Commitment
Reducing our environmental impact
We understand the importance of caring for the world we live in and strive to reduce our environmental impact through responsible management and sustainable practices. By embedding these principles into our operations, we strive to create a more sustainable future.
Our key commitments include:
- Regulatory Compliance – Meeting or exceeding all environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Pollution & Waste Reduction – Minimising emissions, waste, and resource consumption
- Sustainable Decision Making – Integrating environmental responsibility into business decisions
- Eco-Friendly Sourcing – Partnering with suppliers to prioritise sustainable materials
- Employee Awareness – Educating staff on environmental responsibilities
- Energy & Resource Efficiency – Reducing energy, fuel, and material consumption
- Recycling Initiatives – Implementing waste reduction and recycling programmes where viable
We Are FSC® Certified
FSC Chain of Custody Certification means that the forest supply chain is unbroken for our FSC-certified products and supports responsible forestry.

Energy Management
An investment in 2 large arrays of solar panels means we are proud to generate a significant amount of our own electricity and at peak times we are even able to export surplus renewable electricity back into the National Grid.
We have an external energy consultant to assist us with ongoing efficiencies in our energy management. Things such as sensor lighting and auto shutdown of machinery when not in use are other examples of things we have implemented to reduce our energy usage.

ESG Statement
At Dunhams Washrooms, we are committed to embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles throughout our design, manufacturing, and delivery approach. We provide sustainable, durable, and responsible washroom systems while continuously improving our environmental performance and ethical standards.
Environmental Commitment
We recognise the role our industry plays in reducing carbon impact and supporting resource efficiency. Our environmental commitments focus on reducing embodied carbon, supporting circularity, and delivering long‑life washroom solutions.
Low‑Carbon, Durable and Sustainable Materials
Customers increasingly expect products that minimise lifetime environmental impact. At Dunhams, we:
- Prioritise durable, long‑life products that reduce embodied carbon through fewer replacement cycles.
- Support circularity through delivering longevity, low waste and extended product life.
Local and Efficient Manufacturing
To reduce Scope 3 emissions and strengthen resilience, we:
- Manufacture 85% of our products on-site in North Norfolk, reducing transport emissions and supporting the local economy. By shortening supply chains, we help customers meet growing demands for resilience, climate adaptation and reduced carbon intensity.
- Maintain full in-house UK production, giving us precise control over waste, quality, and production efficiency.
- Operate state-of-the-art, modern machinery that improves accuracy, efficiency, and reduces operational energy use.
Energy and Resource Efficiency
We have invested significantly in renewable and efficient energy systems:
- Two large solar panel arrays generate a substantial proportion of our own electricity and export surplus energy to the National Grid during peak times.
- Sensor lighting and automated equipment shutdown reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
For customers, we design washroom systems that help achieve measurable reductions in operational consumption:
- Low‑flow, water‑saving troughs, taps and layouts
- Energy‑efficient hand dryers
- Materials and coatings that reduce chemical demand
- Design features that improve cleaning and maintenance efficiency.
We already provide evidence based data sheets covering our products and we are committed to communicating these benefits more clearly.
Social Commitment
Washrooms are essential public spaces that must be inclusive, safe, and supportive of user wellbeing for every user.
Inclusive, Accessible and Safe Environments
Our products are designed to meet or exceed accessibility standards, supporting:
- Accessible cubicles compliant with the Equality Act (DDA)
- Layouts that support diverse user groups
- Hygienic, safe environments that promote public health
These reflect modern expectations for social sustainability, equity, and user wellbeing.
Ethical Labour and Responsible Sourcing
We maintain strong oversight of our materials and supply chains through:
- Ethical labour standards and transparent working practices
- Regular supply chain reviews to ensure materials are sourced responsibly and sustainably
- Increasing integration of digital and AI enabled due diligence as part of future supply chain governance
User Centric Design and Wellbeing
Customers see washrooms as an extension of brand values and user experience. Our approach -Consult, Execute, Deliver – ensures washrooms:
- Feature high-quality, comfortable finishes
- Support efficient flow and reduced crowding
- Elevate user comfort and reflect organisational identity
Governance Commitment
Strong governance ensures our customers can trust the reliability and integrity of our products and operations.
Reliable, Risk Managed Supply Chains
Our governance-led operational approach delivers:
- On‑time, predictable delivery
- Durable, rigorously quality checked products
- Reduced client risk through fully controlled UK manufacturing processes
Our operational excellence includes offering a 48‑hour turnaround for replacement panels, far surpassing standard industry lead times and reducing client downtime and operational disruption.
We continue to refine our procurement, oversight and reporting processes to support long term resilience and transparency.
Continuous Improvement and Operational Integrity
We integrate sustainability into every stage of our business through:
- Compliance with all environmental regulations
- Waste reduction and recycling initiatives
- Employee awareness and sustainability training
- Ongoing investment in advanced machinery that improves accuracy, efficiency, and workplace safety (including modern automated CNC systems)
Our Ongoing Commitment to Progress
We recognise that sustainability is a continuous journey and are actively working towards enhanced environmental targets, deeper supply chain transparency, and improved reporting, reflecting our commitment to responsible growth.
We are dedicated to improving our goals year on year and ensuring our customers can trust in the integrity, performance, and sustainability of the products we provide.
